Why Bridge (HB1920)

Established under House Bill 1929 (2024), Bridge is part of a statewide effort to support young adults transitioning out of inpatient behavioral health care. The program is implemented in partnership with the Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA) and NorthStar Advocates to reduce homelessness and support recovery-focused transitions back to community living. Young people who exit behavioral health inpatient treatment are the largest group of people who become homeless within three to 12 months of all the young people who exit any publicly funded system of care.
